SLO-Op Construction

Update: As of July 2012, we spent about $45,000 to construct a new wall, repaint the gym, and move the workout area into the office area with a new reception area. Come check us out!

As always, SLO Op was built on the backs of mainly unpaid, but passionate volunteers. The current SLO Op cost about $60,000 in materials to complete the initial phase, but untold manhours were spent as we worked 12-15 hour days with no breaks for two months. It was not a little project.

Here is a slideshow of our construction photos:

The wall was designed by Yishai Horowitz, and then made into plans by an architect and structural engineer. The actual construction was done with oversight from Louie Anderson (who personally installed our steel framing and did the paint job) and a corps of volunteers that varied widely. Let’s not forget the takedown of the old steel structure.
